The great ancient basalt citywalls Diyarbakir surround a city of mosques, many packed into a relatively small area. You can spend about two days here simply on the tourist office in the cultural Sarayi and ask for a map shows you the mosques and other places of interest.
Diyarbakir is probably the most important city in south-east Turkey.
